Personal Updates

Over the past year, I’ve written two stories and a drash. The drash will be published here the same day it’s given, on 17 July 2026. However, I will give you a hint as to its topic: July is Disability Pride month. For my sanity and because it’ll make my temple’s life easier, I will be recording it in advance once my rabbi and I have a final draft prepared.

Actually, I wrote three stories, but the third story is on AO3 and is intended to be part of a shared universe of disability fantasy stories. See its collection page on AO3 for more information.

I have also been applying for disability services. Initially, I tried Washington County’s developmental disability board, but unfortunately the documentation that exists doesn’t show that my autism & ADHD were disabling prior to age 22. (I doubt that the more extensive documentation that existed at one point would have helped, given the last IEP had “[Síle] can do whatever [fae] puts [faer] mind to” all over. Unfortunately, I have the “can’t put my mind to it” disorder.) Ageing and Persons with Disabilities is the other major route, and they lost the first application. Somehow. We’ll see how the second attempt goes.
